For att customer with an existing contract here are the following steps:

• Eligibility: 
• phone is not currently on the contract.
• if it is on contract then you have to terminate with additional ~$270.
• fill out this unlock form via att
• You will need the IMEI information from the iphone
• Account holders SSN last four digit
• It will take (as it says during the request time) 24-48 hours to process the unlock. 
• You can check the status using the IMEI and request no information.
• After the request is granted you need to connect to itunes store to complete the process.
