Gout

First attack:
    =======
  • Achieving a healthy weight.
    • 2.5 hours/week ( at least ) exercise. 

  • Limiting alcohol
    • I am non alcoholic. 

  • Avoiding/reducing foods high in purines.
    • mackerel, anchovy, sardines, tuna
    • red meat, liver, brain.
    • shrimp, lobster
    • Shorisha oil

  • Drinking plenty of fluid
    • 2.5 liter (4 bottle full of my flask) 

  • Limiting foods sweetened with fructose
    • deshi 'mishti', chocolate, soda

  • Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables
    • all but asparagus, spinach, mushroom, cauliflower. 
    • Potato is fine
    •  
  • Consuming low-fat dairy products
    • yogurt
  • Increase intake of Vitamin C
    • orange juice 100% 

Second attack:
  • Occurrence: January 2020
  •  The tight shoe I had been wearing for two days during the interview which triggered the attack (I assume). Besides I am also a bit stressed about my job finding.

  • I went to Indiana University Hospital Emergency Department on 27th late night.
  • They gave the following medication:
    • Colchicine (Colcrys) reduces inflammation. 
    • Indomethacin (Indocin) is a stronger NSAID pain reliever. 
    • Famotidine (Pepcid) decrease acid production in the body
  • After two days of taking medication, the pain subsided a little.
